Dick Cheney: Now Reports He Ran Assassination Teams! OMG. Call 4Lobbying

Editor’s Note: I had this idea that the Heroes or Villains should be different people each post. But the name of Dick Cheney keeps coming up again and again. So here he is again: The Worst of the Worst.

Dick Cheney, outside the box (and way beyond the pale)
Copy of email sent today to the DNC and the White House
(with follow up regular mail copy also sent out today).

We urge you to also contact them, at:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ and
http://www.democrats.org/contact.html and

Note: Since we don’t write to the White House (or DNC) everyday it was decided to mention three (3) actions that are most core to our concerns.

1. Cheney
2.Sarah Palin. The need to exercise the Constitutional power of Recall
3. The ongoing investigation into who was behind the deliberate fabrication of false documents used to mislead the nation to war.

BEGINNING OF LETTER TO WHITE HOUSE AND DNC:

The new President is doing a great job, setting an example of honest leadership, living up to his campaign promises and putting the country on a much better path than the nightmare of the Bush years.

But Cheney is still with us. And Sarah Palin still a governor, a governor who is working against the people in her own state by refusing to take some of the Federal stimulus plan money.

I request two things: one for each of this ‘dishonest leaders,” Cheney and Palin.

1. Cheney is hated. I an others on the “left,” can’t understand why he is not pursued for something. You have nearly nothing to lose by going after him and you have a lot to lose if you don’t.
(You will lose the enthusiasm of many Obama supporters).

The new reports of Cheney running an executive assassination ring must be investigated! Listen to what Rep. Dennis Kuchinich on this. Get the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee investigate these new allegations.

If you don’t go after Cheney on this (or something) you will lose voters in 2010.

Re: Palin. Start a recall drive against her in Alaska.

Recall is a right of the people in our Constitution and it’s a mistake that it is so limited. The Bush years show how it is needed.

Palin can be recalled. Do it.

Words alone are not going to be enough to cash in on even greater victories for the Democratic Party in 2010. More than words are needed. Action is needed.

Action against hideous unpopular and wrongdoer Dick Cheney and action against rebel hillbilly neocon conservative Republican governor Palin in Alaska.

I will print this out and mail it to you. These two issues will be the touchstone of your parties success.

My group also pursues greater truth of who was behind the deliberate fabrication of lies that misled the nation into the war in Iraq (see: http://www.americancitizenstogether.org/ACT/thesmokinggun/thesmokinggun.html) and that is the last issue I wish to bring to your attention.

It was not just ‘mistakes in judgement,’ or ‘cherry-picking,’ of intelligence that mislead the nation into war, it was Deliberately Fabricated Lies, specifically the forged documents and memo claiming Saddam was trying to buy yellow-cake uranium from Niger.

This, so far, has been whitewashed and glossed over. The Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee Investigation of this (while Bush was still President) prohibited this one fact — the forged documents – from even being investigated. Why?

Why? Because they were trying to hide something. #1) It’s ridiculous that one of the key questions of false intelligence used to mislead the nation into the Iraq war is “prohibited,” from being investigated.

#2 – It now needs to be investigated.

Sincerely,
citizenbfk

P.S. Contact the DNC and White House about this. All this is way out of bounds, way too much to ignored. The Democrats need to flex some muscle about this or lose support and our country loses too.

COPY OF PRESS RELEASE: ISIS ACCUSED OF BLACK OPS – SOURCES OF FALSE INTEL IRAQ IDENTIFIED

“If we’re not dead yet, it’s time to wake up.”

citizenbfk, commenting on Press Release, below

Yesterday A.C.T. (American Citizens Together) published online in it’s weekly Political Action News the accusation that ISIS (Institute for Science and International Security

Last week’s report by ISIS about Iran WMD and it’s testimony at the Foreign Affairs Committee killed the truth and falsely spread lies and fear.

Also a report revealing the sources of a prime piece of false intel used to falsely justify the Iraq War was put online, revealing who from the Bush era Office of the Secretary of Defense and who from within the U.S. intelligence community created and planted the Niger uranium forgeries — the forged documents claiming that Saddam Hussein was trying to buy yellowcake uranium from Niger.

John Boehner: Republican House Temper Tantrum Leader

John-Boehner.ten1HMTVYvFU.jpg

Without John Boehner’s & other Republican pigeon poop on your windshield the overwhelming legislative victory yesterday for the Democratic-sponsored Economic Recovery & Stimulus_Plan was impressive.

One news report said: “Twenty-four days into his presidency, Barack Obama recorded last night a legislative achievement of the sort that few of his predecessors achieved at any point in their tenure

In size and scope, there is almost nothing in history to rival the economic stimulus legislation that Obama shepherded through Congress in just over three week.”

President Obama truly did offer an open-hand to Republicans and said: “Let’s play ball,” but the Republican response has been to take their ball and go home.“

No problem. They’re not the only one with balls.

Boehner’s final pathetic complaint was that the bill was too long to read. A YouTube of this profound moment is at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvnwOjDjnH4

Boehner also complained about not being invited to every meeting about the bill and the difficult of finding details, although the Obama Administration started a new program of historic transparency by making such bills and the budget available online.

Stimulus details: http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9989/hr1conference.pd

And the complete text of the up-to-the-minute latest version can be found at: http://www.readthestimulus.org/

Compared to how such legislation was handled in the Bush Dark Ages this is light-years in improvement.

John Boehner’s complain is more than worthless, it’s is two-faced. All Congress bills are like this, or worse. It’s like saying you don’t like the day because there is weather outside.

Maybe Boehner needs new glasses to help him read; or better yet, maybe during a school tour some 3rd-graders will show him how to search through online documents with the Find-command and that will help his specific complaint.

It appears clear the Republicans are going to hold their face till they turn blue. Turning their backs on the Stimulus Plan is going to hurt their Congressional representation from Michigan, Florida and Californian, for sure. We can look forward to more victories against Republicans in 2010.

Boehner is going down with the ship: He’s helping it sink.

Republicans & Media: Wake Up On the Wrong Side of the Bed

media-lies-nh.WDATJBuM3141.jpg

Maybe not realizing they suffered a substantial repudiation to their policies Republicans have been criticizing President Obama in these first two weeks of his new administration as if we cared. And the mainstream media has continued to cover such criticisms as if either they were news or they were valid.

But Obama scored a victory for his Economic Stimulus Bill in the Senate today. A version passed the House last week. Here are the words that really mean something:

“It is inexcusable and irresponsible to get bogged down in distraction and delay while millions of Americans are being put out of work, Americans, did not want to turn back to the same tried and failed approaches that were rejected in the last election.”

McCain the Monster

Frankenstein MacEnstein McCain

Frankenstein MacEnstein McCain

The latest ad campaign and smear tactics of the McCain campaign that started this week are disgusting. He’s calling Obama a friend of a “domestic terrorist” from the Sixties…a guy who was out of wack when Obama was eight years old. Next we’re expected to hear about Obama’s former crazy preacher. Then it will be Obama associating with crooked real estate deals in Chicago.

It’s disgusting. WYSIWYG – Obama is none of these things. While McCain is a womanizer — who confessed to war crimes and begged for special treatment in that Hanoi prison (while others tried to escape or died first under torture) –a womanizer, a confessor of war crimes to the enemy, a crap shooter, on the edge of senility and now: A man without honor.

McCain is a villain.

This site has been put up by the Obama campaign: http://www.keatingeconomics.com/

This site, above, tells the truth and gives facts about the last banking scandal — in which John McCain was involved. The guy at the center of the scandal went to jail. McCain got officially censored by the Senate.

The public paid the bill for $128,000,000.00 (More or less).

Yet now, today, — as mentioned — McCain starts his campaign to slander Obama with false guilt by casual association, trying to link Obama to the actions and ideas of a Sixties anti-Vietnam radical. Obama was eight years old at the time of this radical’s actions.

It’s disgusting.

It’s thus nonsense to make such an association! It should also be clear that Obama has not been advocating bombing anything or revolutionary thoughts: Instead he’s been doing the right thing of advocating voter registration, adherence to the Constitution and diplomacy before starting pre-emptive unnecessary wars.

Bush & Cheney ARE War Criminals (doing torture, alone, makes that true). The Republican Party led the way into the black hole of the Middle East Wars. The Republican Party sold us all out to special interest.

o, let’s get real. We can’t let these warmongers and liars continue to rule our country. We need to DEFEAT REPUBLICANS!
Defeat them now, defeat them in the next elections, defeat them till their party doesn’t exist anymore.

No phony ‘guilt by association,’ is needed to link McCain to the last banking scandal — it’s documented; it’s real.

McCain’s policies of de-regulation and eliminations of watchdogs was key to allowing the banks get away with this current scam.

We can’t let this dirty politics go down. In truth, it’s worse than the bank scams — it’s a scam and mockery of our politics.

We can’t let this dirty politics go down. In truth, it’s worse than the bank scams — it’s a scam and mockery of our politics.

Mr. Billionaire Wants No Strings Attached

Treasury Secretary for the Bailout

Treasury Secretary for the Bailout

VILLAIN: TREASURY SECRETARY PAULSON

Partner & Previous Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Goldman Sachs.

member of the International Monetary Fund Board of Governors

This economic bailout expected to be voted on today or tomorrow in the U.S. House of Representative is equal to the cost that would be entailed in ten years (10 years!) more of the War in Iraq.

He is clearly a villain because he approached Congress practically with the pressure of an extortionist. Give me the money now, he demanded. Give me the money without any supervision, he demanded. Give me the money and allow me to spend it without any regard or current proper procedures for spending government money, he demanded. Give me the money and do now allow any Court consideration of how it is used. Give me the money, let me spend it anyway I want, including giving it to foreign banks. (!)

The formal language for all these omnipotent demands was this:

FROM THE LEGISLATIVE PROPOSAL FOR TREASURY AUTHORITY
TO PURCHASE MORTGAGE-RELATED ASSETS, PUBLISHED SEPT. 20,2008

The Secretary is authorized to take such actions as the Secretary deems necessary to carry out the authorities in this Act including, without limitation:

> Entering into contracts…without regard to any other provision of law regarding public contracts.

> Designating financial institutions as financial agents of the Government.

> Sell, or enter into securities loans, repurchase transactions or other financial transactions in regard to, any mortgage-related asset purchased under this Act.

> Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

In addition to such omnipotence giving this man such a vast amount of money it’s clear it’s like giving the fox money to guard the chicken house: He is part of the problem. He is part of causing the problem.

All in all, we’re expecting good to come from a failed President getting money from a failed Congress to be given to a failed Wall Street, as the sole dictatorial decisions of a Wall Street Baron.

Besides that, not only is there any particular reason to ask for such a staggering amount of money but Paulson also makes it clear there is no guarantee this will solve the problem  — Enough money to conduct a war for ten years and not even sure it will solve the problem!

This is robbery. This is grand theft. This is Wall Street Socialism. This allows these bankers to always be walking away with their profits while the government picks up it’s losses.

INHERENTLY, TOO, THE QUOTES OF PAULSON, BELOW, SHOW THAT HIS ASSESSMENT AND COMMENTS IN THE PAST WERE 180-DEGREES OPPOSITE TO THE TRUTH, TO THE REALITY OF THE CRISIS.

In Spring 2007, Secretary Paulson told an audience at the Shanghai Futures Exchange that “An open, competitive, and liberalized financial market can effectively allocate scarce resources in a manner that promotes stability and prosperity far better than governmental intervention.”
In August 2007, Secretary Paulson explained that U.S. subprime mortgage fallout remained largely contained due to the strongest global economy in decades.
On July 20, 2008, after the failure of Indymac Bank, Paulson reassured the public by saying, “it’s a safe banking system, a sound banking system. Our regulators are on top of it. This is a very manageable situation.”

Ron Suskind: The Forged CIA case for War in Iraq

More White House lies for war revealed

More White House lies for war revealed

Ron Suskind is a Pulizer-prize winning author, a professional journalist and he says he has tapes of his interviews of former CIA agents that led to the claims he’s been promoting on all the TV talk shows and News interview shows this week.

An article yesterday summed up his case, titled: “The Forged Iraqi Letter: What Just Happened?”

The quick summary is: The CIA forged a letter, under White House orders, that falsely links Iraq to Al Qaeda before the 2003 invasion, the specific claim about “the British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africia,” as well as a new claim that the White House had info that there were no WMD’s in Iraq.

The sixteen words: “the British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africia,” were spoken by Bush in the State of the Union address about the ‘axis of evil,” as was one of the big preludes to war.

I’ve been following the trail of this letter for years. One trail talked of “The Italian Letter,” because of it being printed in an Italian Newspaper, then the false intel was turned over to French intelligence and then turned over to British intelligence, reported in the British press and then quoted by the White House, Bush/Cheney, Romney, others as the Iraq-Al Qaeda link with the implication of a Saddam Hussein 9/11 link (just linke the White House implied that the anthrax attacks the week after 9/11 also came from Iraq).

The story of “The Italian letter was posted here over a year ago and more info about it is here

Rod Suskind’s new book, published this week, gets to the actual names of the CIA agents who did the forgery. The letter, itself, is the Smoking Gun.

Suskind says that now he and even more so, his CIA sources, are under tremendous pressure,” to recant their story.

I bet. So he deserves the Hero Worth Knowing award for standing up to that pressure and for his pursuit of the truth which will be needed to clean up this mess and to inform our American history with the hope is will prevent such lies and abuse from happening again.

We certainly need to vote for better leaders.

There is not much more to add to these horrific facts. Perhaps the actual news story from December 2003 where the false CIA info was printed in English may be so some interest.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (entered on his holiday)

Martin Luther King, Jr.Although the listing of Martin Luther King, Jr. here should seem obvious, his annual holiday today was a reminder of his life and work. Considering his status it is more a humble gesture here rather than a need to honor an already established great man.

One of the news — historic — items talked about in the news this weekend was about the building of his monument in Washington, D.C. They said it was going to be between the Jefferson Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.

I guess that placement just about says it all.

Thank you Mr. King for helping to lead one of the great movements in American history, if not the greatest.

Jack Cafferty: TV’s Most Lovable Curmudgeon

It’s Getting Ugly Out There

Mr. Cafferty appears on ‘The Situation Room,’ and discusses one or two questions, asking viewers to send in their email response. Of course sometimes the questions can be slanted, such as: “Do you think Kim Jon ll is not only mentally ill but also the worst dressed member of the Axis of Evil?”

Jack doesn’t pull his punches. But the bright side of this is how he is also keen to take on America’s own bad apples with such questions as, “Do you think George Bush is the worst President in our history or not?”

Overall we see a ‘normal man,’ – in his sixties — with normal and common sense views but brave and articulate enough to be putting them on TV. He also defies this gross tendency to put the population into two camps: Liberal and/or Conservative.

He is neither ‘Liberal,’ or ‘Conservative,’  with all the supposed set of traits or attitudes that are alleged to adhere to such appellation, but instead has a perception able to pierce through the phoniness and lies of whomever it might be.

Although Mr. Cafferty might not like this (or maybe he will), but he reminds me of my father. He reminds me of an attitude and style that doesn’t tolerate foolish ideas, cuts through the bullsh*t, and realizes that the bad traits of human nature are shared across party lines as well as political and social opinions.

Thinking about this I recall one of my father’s (Irish) sayings: “Religion means what foot do you kick with.”

Reporter Seymour Hersh – Exposing the hard truths, again.

seymour_hersh.jpg

There were some interviews of Seymour Hersh on TV .

This is the reporter who exposed the My Lai massacres in Vietnam
and many other things, exposing hard truths folks don’t want him too.
Now’s he’s got this expose on USA Wars in Lebanon and Iran already
started.

His article about our apparently now started War in Iran,  The Iran Plans, can be read, at:  http://www.newyorker.com/archive/2006/04/17/060417fa_fact

Info from him about USA heavy involvement in the War in Lebanon, was used for this story: http://www.countercurrents.org/symonds220507.htm

And his info was also used for this powerful piece, at:  http://www.alternet.org/story/40042/

With so many lies, and endless list of lies, to have this one man who digs hard for and documents the ugly truth of USA policies, is good and his efforts against such monumental odds and opposition would have to be considered heroic, by definition. Few of us could not only stand up like he has done but also succeed in getting the word out, getting his news heard.

Seymour Hersh, USA patriot and hero.
