This is not only a good example of the media continuing to fuel this issue but also favor the anti-mosque forces.

All these religions have obviously failed in their major claims and are now part of stirring up Religious Wars again. For those who don’t know, btw, laws against murder, robbery, adultery, etc. are common to other cultures — as well as claims of value for compassion, etc. — so these religions are not necessary nor the sole providers for such common sense guidelines; and their most unique features has proven to promoting hate against each other.

Christian Group Organizes Quran-Burning Day
A church in Gainesville, Florida is planning an “International Burn a Quran Day” on September 11 to commemorate the victims of terrorist attacks on that day nine years ago.
People are invited to come to the Dove World Outreach Center between 6 and 9 pm to set a copy of Islam’s Holy Book on fire. Members of the church believe that “Islam is of the devil,” according to Pastor Terry JonesTerry Jones.
Muslims and Christians are uniting against this islamophobic action by creating their own event. The Council on American-Islamic Relations will be hosting “Share the Quran” dinners throughout the month of August, not as a conversion tool, but merely to educate Americans about the true beliefs of Islam.
This advocacy group condemns the acts of terrorists who have twisted the meaning of their religion.
The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) is calling on the Dove World Outreach Center to cancel their Quran-burning event.
“The NAE calls on its members to cultivate relationships of trust and respect with our neighbors of other faiths,” it said in a statement. “God created human beings in his image, and therefore all should be treated with dignity and respect.’

I’ve found this issue somewhat complicated to explain to some correspondents in other nations and it seems our corrosive and toxic media had been giving us only HALF the polling data. This report, today, give MORE COMPLETE OPINION POLL info. — and explains a lot.
1. Most New Yorkers don’t like the project.
2. Most New Yorkers believe the developers have a right to build the mosque.
This is so much more ‘American.” — before we were only told 64% didn’t like the project. Now we see the full picture is 64% don’t like it but also believe it’s totally allowed, protected by the Constitution.
This does clarify the average American position: ‘This sucks,’ most think. ‘But it’s the law.”
Years ago I read there was big protest in NY about losing a baseball team. They had the same feeling then: “This sucks. But it’s going to happen.”
How NY. And how American. You see, the vast majority believe in the protection of religious freedom; not that we have to like it. The opponents to the mosque who attack this freedom of religion are real fascist attacking our core values and highest law.

The commander in chief doubled-down on his support of the controversial prayer and community center two blocks from Ground Zero while stumping Wednesday at a townhall-style meeting on the in economy in Ohio.
“The answer is – no regrets,” he responded to an inquisitive reporter.
Earlier Wednesday, a published statewide poll suggested most New Yorkers oppose Park51 even though they believe the project is protected by the Constitution.
A Siena College poll released Wednesday suggests 63% of New York voters oppose the project, while 27% support it.
But 64% of New York voters said the developers have the right to build the mosque under the Constitution, versus 28% who said they don’t.
